In 2003 the first Forum of the Baltic Heritage Group where Baltic Lights was launched was held in Gdansk, I edited the English texts of the conference proceedings Common Sea- Common Heritage? for the Polish Maritime museum in Gdansk.2004-2010: Secretary, the Working Group on Coastal Culture and Maritime HeritageParticipated in and helped to organise bi-annual meetings of Working Group members in the countries of the Baltic Sea Region and Norway.1998-2002: Fieldworker, Stavanger Maritime MuseumEmployed for several fieldwork seasons with the Rogaland Boat Project: to study the construction and use of open, wooden working boats in Rogaland. Located, registered and photographed boats found during fieldwork (approx. 700).       Organised and improved all aspects of collections management at the museum in preparation for its initial application to be registered as a ‘national’ museum in line with the original UK Registration Scheme (now Museum Accreditation Scheme), awarded to SFM in 1999. Responsibility for several successful funding applications for collections management improvements, and part of team contributing to positive funding application to the Heritage Lottery Fund to save the unique Zulu fishing vessel Research LK62. 1999: invited to return from Norway to the Scottish Fisheries Museum to take up the post of acting curator for three months.
