      • Mar 2016 - Present

My usual home life involves multi-tasking efficiently, prioritising and juggling activities on a daily basis. We own and run an Airbnb apartment so I administer the bookings, changeovers and restocking as necessary. I now have a registered food business and spend much of my spare time making jam and other preserves which I sell outside my house. I have a growing group of regular and loyal customers. This grew out of fund-raising activities with both my daughters which suited my entrepreneurial nature. I enjoy painting and have an exhibition coming up at the end of September at a local venue. The dog breeding has come to an end for now, after four litters. It was an extremely rewarding experience after a very steep initial learning curve. We chose to keep one of the last puppies, so now I have two dogs, two cats, a parrot, a husband and two adult daughters in the house. There are five chickens in the garden. My husband is the only male in the house.

    • Accounts Clerk/Administrator
      • May 2018 - Aug 2022

Working as required on office administration, GDPR, training, tax returns, VAT returns, bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, QuickBooks, Excel Outlook and Word, dealing with clients and queries. I became responsible for delivering the Payroll services for the practice, handling the payroll, banking and pension requirements for multiple clients. During Covid season I was responsible for calculating and submitting claims for furlough payments from HMRC for many different types of businesses. I had to keep careful and detailed records in case of challenge from HMRC and many of the clients needed complicated calculations. It also necessitated keeping on top of the constantly shifting political announcements and grants which needed to be communicated to clients regularly in a clear and understandable format.

    • Class teacher, music subject leader
      • Jun 2004 - Jul 2014

Sometimes a full-time class teacher, delivering the full primary curriculum, planning for and assessing multiple abilities of children in my class, monitoring progress and ensuring breadth and depth of learning. Sometimes part-time, purely delivering the music curriculum across the whole primary age range, assessing and reporting progress for upwards of 300 children. When I was music curriculum leader I had to write policy, monitor attainment throughout the school, provide training, run staff meetings and workshops, write reports and deliver presentations to the Senior Management Team, Governors and Ofsted inspectors.
