Kate joined Ocean Wise (Vancouver Aquarium) in the spring of 2014, to coordinate a special project within the national Shoreline Cleanup program. Within 6 months, she was promoted to lead the whole initiative. She earned this promotion in such a short time because of her demonstration of passion for the organization’s conservation mission, significant drive and motivation to grow and strengthen the program, excellent collaboration with the program partner and strong people leadership skills. As in most non-profit organizations, there were always significant constraints in terms of budget and time line for all programs. With her leadership, project management skills and attention to detail, Kate continually delivered her program objectives on time and within budget guidelines. As Senior VP Business and CFO of Ocean Wise at the time, I was always very confident to know that Kate was in charge because I knew that she would deliver the results we needed.

Spirited, energetic and smart - the attributes that one needs in today’s competitive and challenging work environment. Kate has been a pillar at the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, and a great colleague at Ocean Wise!
