In this role I conducted research into the impacts of the Covid-19 Pandemic for young people across the City of Whittlesea and how we can best respond to young people’s needs. In response, we launched a youth online drop in space with youth specific events, relaunching WCC’s tutoring program but taking it to an online platform, creating online tools and resources for young people and working with young people to help advocate for a dedicated Youth Space in the City of Whittlesea. Due to the negative stereotyping of young people which was prominent in Northern Suburbs of Melbourne during Covid19 we launched a youth storytelling project sharing positive stories of the incredible contributions young people were making in the City of Whittlesea. • Youth Engagement and Development Officer
      • Nov 2017 - Apr 2019

My role as Youth Engagement & Development Officer is thoroughly rewarding. I enjoy the balance of supporting the young people engaged in our youth programs and being a social justice advocate in a school environment. Working with schools to tailor and deliver interesting and engaging workshops on varying social justice topics is a great opportunity to be creative and to continually develop my awareness and understanding of social justice issues in the community. No day is the same, and I am consistently building on my skills and abilities in Program Management & Development, Group Facilitation, Volunteer Management, Grant Writing, Budget Management, Engaging new stakeholders, Building Partnerships, Developing Content and Building Relationships with the young people engaged in our programs.
