I act on my own initiative ensuring a patient gets the correct service, e.g. requesting MRI/CT results, recent blood test results, MMSE scores & background information.I assist with organising Mental Health Act paperwork when necessary & also arranging SOAD requests for patients who are on Section of the Mental Health Act (1983).I offer advice to GPs & other agencies regarding referrals to our service.I act as first point of call for any queries & assist with vital information sharing with teams including Probation; Advocacy; ECC; DWP; DVLA; Police including BTP; Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT) from outside our Trust area; General Inpatient Wards; CAB; Social Services; GPs; A&E; Duty Teams; Medical Records Departments, Housing Services & Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment Teams (CRHT).Along side my day to day work I am currently working on data cleansing to ensure our patient recording system is as up to date as possible for our East Inpatient Teams.

Working in a team, I provide secretarial support for a Consultant Psychiatrist & a Specialist Trainee. This role involves typing reports for Mental Health Tribunals, SCT renewal reports, Court Reports & patient outcome letters. I assist my team with keeping to set targets including CPA,/Non CPA, Mental Health Clustering. 5WTT/18WTT, & the Minimum Data Set. I assist with seeking further information when we receive referrals, acting on my own instincts of what is needed in order to ensure the patient gets the correct service, e.g. requesting MRI results, recent blood test results, MMSE scores & background information if the patient has just moved to the area. The team have a caseload of approx 250 patients. I assist with organsing Mental Health Act paperwork when necessary & also arranging SOAD requests. As a team we take part in National Audits, which help create better and improved services for patients. We also provide, at the request of solicitors, full psychiatric assessments for HMP prisoners. I take calls from people who may be experiencing a crisis & I support them & sign post them to the correct service in order for them to get the input they need. I offer advice to GPs & other agencies regarding referrals to our service, I act as first point of call for any queries & assist with vital information sharing with teams including Probation; Advocacy; ECC; DWP; DVLA; Police; Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT); Criminal Justice Mental Health Teams (CJMHT); General Inpatient Wards; CAB; Social Services; GPs; A&E; Duty Teams; Medical Records departments & Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment Teams (CRHT). I assist with initiating AMHP referrals for Mental Health Act Assessments. I also provide support to my secretarial colleagues & assist with reception cover as & when required. In addition to this role I am a Manual Handling Link Trainer & assist with the Health & Safety, & when needed security aspects, of the building.
