Having worked closely with Kate both in a consulting capacity and whilst we were both at Superdry, its clear to see that she is a talented sportswear designer, bringing energy and passion for her products. Kate is forward thinking, proactive and fast paced, whilst thoughtful and thorough to oversee the long and short term of the projects she works on. Kate has been a fantastic colleague, and someone who I can highly recommend to brands looking to hire a skilled designer for freelance projects.

Kate is a creative, and talented clothing designer, with years of experience at the highest level. Her knowledge of the sportswear design and manufacturing industry would make her an asset to any company. She is very personable, reliable and great to work with too.

In 2006 I joined Superdry as the first Womenswear designer. This was a unique and fast-moving role, working directly alongside the Creative Brand Director James Holder & Julian Dunkerton Founder. I worked mainly on Womenswear, creating the Vintage thrift collection, but also supporting other areas within the range such as luggage, footwear, sunglasses and accessories. I was also able to get involved with campaign shoots, working very closely with James Meigh Head of Creative helping him to style my products, and achieve the desired look and feel.I have also worked on the Track and Field category within Superdry, which is a graphics driven range. Where I was responsible for researching key graphic trends, innovative print techniques and content.Company strategy to elevate and grow key product areas, allowed me to transition into the Women’s Sportswear category, where I have helped to pioneer this brand-new area of the business. My specific area of focus within the sportswear offer is Yoga & Loungewear, both of which are new concepts for Superdry, rapidly expanding through the success of small capsule collections offered to wholesale customers, retail top-stores and online. My yoga collection was also featured on WGSN after being photographed at ISPO. I currently work on Superdry Studio team, which focuses on sustainable luxury fabrications for the refined consumer. Previous experience at Superdry includes: SMU DESIGNER: (Special Make up)Accountable for more than 20% of the total retail product mix, I was responsible for any special sampling requests, briefed directly from the Creative Brand Director James Holder & Julian Dunkerton Founder, where he felt that there were missed opportunities or gaps within the UK retail offer. Working across gender, and within all product categories this position allowed me to broaden my design skills, as well as helping to build a portfolio of relationships worldwide, working closely and directly with over 5 different worldwide territories.Taking on this role allowed me to demonstrate my capabilities and flexibility to work outside of my comfort zone and within a stricter, faster paced environment, as often lead-times from concept- shipment would be much shorter.I also put together a Limited Chinese New Year project and one of the jackets I designed sold through in x3 days with people ringing the store to order it.I am very passionate about Design and my role as a designer, as well as being very organised and detailed.
