  As my first co-op position, I had the opportunity to have a dynamic position within a company I had previous experience with. Within the Accounting and Payroll department, my responsibilities included the task of compiling and preparing hourly, daily and weekly payroll data using GPS and digital map verification ensuring accuracy within payroll disbursements. Throughout my time at Capital, my role shifted to find me collaborating within a small team to create a system to build, manage and sustain processes towards a compliant commercial vehicle operator record system for a fleet of over 300 units of rolling equipment. While this experience drew greatly on my soft skills of communication, adaptive problem solving and organization, my technical skills were greatly refined through this experience. Compiling, verifying and communicating data within Jonas Software, Microsoft Excel, Google Suites and physical records to ensure that standards set by the Ministry of Transportation were appropriately met and documented was an very important aspect of my role as I helped to design and execute the process needed to build the appropriate Commercial Vehicle Operators Record within Capital Infrastructure Group.   My position within Capital Infrastructure Group was my first experience working within a project management department. Through my role, I found myself collaborating within small teams to help collect, organize and communicate data and information for field teams. This responsibility found me using technical applications such Arc GIS, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word to ensure efficiency and accuracy within my role. An interesting experience within this role was the preparation of detailed traffic plans and proposals for submittal within various cities across Ontario. Requiring diligence and attention to detail, I am confident that within individual and shared team results I maintained consistency within internal data collected in the field using Microsoft Excel, Google Drive and Arc GIS to be used in future projects within the Project Management Department and communications throughout the entirety of the organization. Having the ability to be a part of a fast-paced, well-functioning organization, I throughly enjoyed this role and quickly discovered an interest within the infrastructure industry. Show less
