Pets in the Park (PITP) is a registered national charity with DGR (deductible gift recipient) status, dedicated to caring for animals owned by people struggling with homelessness, thanks to the support of many volunteer veterinarians, veterinary nurses, corporate partners and generous members of the public. Pets in the Park (PITP) aims to support, build relationships with and improve the wellbeing of homeless people in society living with animal companions. Many people who are experiencing homelessness own pets that play a significant role in their lives. These much loved pets offer unconditional love, companionship, emotional support and security; basic human needs that are often not met elsewhere. Although pet ownership greatly enriches the lives of those who are homeless, it also comes at a significant financial cost. Annual vaccinations, flea treatment, routine worming, and de-sexing and microchipping an animal costs hundreds of dollars.

Tennis Australia is the governing body of tennis in Australia. Founded in 1904, Tennis Australia have since grown to become one of Australia’s biggest sports organisations. With more than 500 tennis employees across the country and growing to 5000-plus staff and volunteers during summer each year, Tennis are one of the most progressive and vibrant not-for-profit organisations in Australia. Tennis Australia delivers national and international sporting events including the Australian Open, Australian Open Series, Fed Cup and Davis Cup. While at Tennis, I worked as a strategic business partner for key organisation priorities and projects as well as leading the HR team to deliver high-level plans and operational activities that supported the Tennis Australia business, the state-based Member Associations, the Australian Open and Australian Open Series events as well as ad hoc events like Davis Cup and Fed Cup ties.
