Katrina was a delight to work with when our careers met at the University of Wolverhampton. One of the main projects I recall was Katrina leading the steering group for a new university website. She did a great job with the website, and I still regard it as one of the best HE sites I have seen - I certainly learned a lot from sitting on the steering group – and Katrina’s organisation, skill and articulate manner was clear for anyone on the group to see. I have no doubt Katrina will continue to build a successful career in digital marketing/the web.

Katrina is a super-organised and incredibly proficient web expert, that always goes above and beyond to ensure the job gets done.

Content management of college websites and associated web analytics and reporting. Delivering training in the use of best practice use of technology for teaching. Project managed the development of e-learning materials. The perfect first graduate job with a fantastic team, Line Manager and a Web Master from which I learnt so much from - and to whom I am eternally grateful for giving me such amazing freedom to get stuck in and develop new skills and experience. My role was split across: 50% web editing 50% e-Learning material production I worked on a variety of projects creating interactive learning materials using a mixture of audio, video, and using such packages as Authorware, Director and Flash. Learning materials included a full level of AAT qualification training, interactive guide to cuts of meat for hospitality students and a guide on how to best use technology for different learning styles - aimed at the FE teaching community. I was lucky to learn the basics of solid web governance principles relating to content quality, code quality, accessibility. I also started to use web analytics for the first time through the good old fashioned practice of running server logs. The role also gave me experience of interaction design incorporating good teaching practice. Also fondly remembered is the old practice of website disaster recovery, and ensuring that the backup tapes were run every night and rotated when the Web Master was not available. Other odd duties included ensuring adequate fans and ventilation in the server room during hot summer months. Show less
