I am a PhD candidate with technical expertise in coastal geomorphology and sedimentology. My research is focused on the evolution of coastal dunes, the effects of sea level change on sediment supply, and storm and flooding hazards. In my role as a contractor to the U.S. Geological Survey Coastal and Marine Geology Program, I developed Bayesian statistical models to predict shoreline and dune erosion and recovery on seasonal to annual timescales. I worked within the Coastal Hazards team to help generate hazard maps along US Shorelines under a range of storm and sea level rise scenarios. I conducted geospatial data processing and analysis using ArcGIS, Python, and Matlab. I also collaborated with the National Park Service to provide quantitative information to benefit the management of Fire Island National Seashore. Show less

As a field geologist, I worked on a variety of projects including groundwater well drilling operations and monitoring, slope stability analysis, and Hurricane Sandy utility disaster assessment. I spent 7 months as a field team lead on a soil sampling program, where I was responsible for soil classification, hazardous waste identification, delineation, remediation procedures, and the supervision of a team of field technicians.
