It’s rare to find someone who can build authentic relationships to achieve goals as efficiently as Kat can. It is one of the first talents I recognized in Kat and one of the reasons I recruited her to work in my division at the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment. I had the pleasure of supervising Kat for three years while she worked as a Health Education Specialist. I was always in awe of Kat’s ability to get people on board with ideas and genuinely connect with them. I was able to witness Kat lead an innovative community mural project. Throughout the project, Kat developed goals, created task lists, and coordinated communication. She also successfully managed the involvement of over 20 young people, an artist, business owners, and several Health Department staff. Weld County Government had never completed an arts-based project of this magnitude before. Kat’s success with this project was no small feat! Kat also possesses a unique blend of analytical thinking and creative ability which makes her an awesome brainstorming partner. She will challenge you to think about issues from different perspectives which leads to creative problem-solving. Oh, and Kat always found time to build camaraderie with her co-workers.
