I was a content marketing manager for four years working at Backpacker, Climbing, SKI, and Snews. During that time, Kassondra was one of my go-to writers. Her writing is versatile, creative, and high quality. She has written reported stories, first person stories, product round-ups, listicles, and interviews. Her work requires minimal editing - both structurally and grammatically. She hits her deadlines and is communicative about changes to the timeline. Kassondra is collaborative. She receives an assignment, asks questions, shapes the structure, suggests ideas to push it further, and is a bright spot in my inbox. Not only is she a delight to work with, but her work gets results. The stories that she has written for us over the years have been some of the top performing advertising content on the sites I’ve managed. Her work increased our averages both in pageviews and in time on page. Kassondra can hook a reader, bring them to the finish line, and develop strong relationships with editors and clients along the way.

Downcity Ink was a monthly literary journal about Rhode Island and all its lovely quirks. I founded the journal in early 2022 while visiting my hometown and it's become a place for current and former Rhode Islanders to write creatively about what they love about this weird little place. The journal is currently on hiatus but may return in the future! In the meantime, find us on Substack at downcityink.substack.com. Think about the most influential women adventurers you know of. Google them. Are they on Wikipedia? There's a huge chance they're not. The vast majority of the encyclopedia's volunteer editors are men, and so are the vast majority of historical figures chronicled via the site. I teamed up with Abby Wise, now managing editor of Outside Online, to host an edit-a-thon to train Boulder's active outdoor community how to edit and create Wikipedia entries to add women adventurers, athletes, product designers, CEOs, journalists, advocates, and other leaders. One page at a time, we're working toward gender parity. Our efforts have been featured by O, the Oprah Magazine, Outside, the Mann Group, Outdoor Industry Association, Boulder Daily Camera, Denver Post, SNEWS, and more. Show less
