Jan 2012 - Present
The financial advisory board advises the committee and the general meeting on legal, investment, insurance, financial planning, and accounting best practice matters.Åbo Nation (Natio Aboensis Universitatis Helsingiensis) is one of the fifteen student nations at the University of Helsinki regulated by the Finnish Universities Act (there being sixteen such legally regulated nations in total). The nations are independent regional corporations of university students, corresponding to different parts of Finland, generally established well before the establishment of an all-embracing student union, and hence of particular historical importance. Today, mandatory membership has passed to the student union and nation membership is voluntary, but the official purpose of the nations remains to support and develop the intellectual pursuits of its members as well as to improve their social cicumstances. In pratice, the nations act as important interdisciplinary societies with a regional connection, offering their members familiar surroundings and wide arrays of activities, hobbies, services, and subsidies. The direct predecessor of Åbo Nation was formed in 1643. It is the Swedish-language nation at the University of Helsinki corresponding to Finland Proper, Satakunta, Pirkanmaa, and the Åland Islands.
