Worked in a world-class team to characterize the electrical, optical, and thermal performance of silicon photonic devices, III-V's, and LiDAR subsystems through the deployment of multiple new testing stations designed from the ground up. Development from SOP creation to HW/SW implementation to floor training. Engagement with CM's to pitch & evaluate new proposals, JDA's, and negotiate factory & site acceptance criteria. In the lab: Created exploratory optical & electro-optical testing capability by internally developing customized measurement solutions to supply upstream design & process feedback and forecast downstream performance. Deployed numerous automated test systems to factories in Europe, Asia, and North America; Residence & work permits issued in 3+ countries; Test volumes from 10 to 10M+.Crunching data: Developed volume data analytics suite in Python to characterize, classify, and flag outlier/anomalous hard drives subject to laser performance variation. Released to overseas design verification line. NPI/NPD: Ownership of new light delivery design qualification as integrated onto baseline platforms (wafers). Designed DOE's and managed build & test flows from wafer through reliability trials for real-world evaluation of new designs to generate consensus go/no-go decisions. Established design performance rankings and resolved modeling expectations vs experimental reality through rigorous statistical analysis, FA, and experimental design. Show less

I primarily design and perform experiments for the optical characterization of nanostructures and nanoscale systems. I have designed and implemented a custom CCD spectrometer and multi-wavelength laser diode system for use in the lab. My work involves collaboration with faculty and graduate students from several departments.

    • Undergraduate Research Assistant
      • May 2008 - May 2009

Developed a graphical user interface (GUI) in MATLAB for modeling the optical properties of single metal nanoparticles. An analysis of optical constants source data on simulation results and accuracy of the simulation method for nano-scale systems were published in a peer-reviewed journal.
