A FQHC that includes medical clinics in 6 cities located in Southeast Missouri. I worked in the Kennett and Caruthersville clinics where I was the only Pediatric Nurse Practitioner on staff of several FNP Providers, a FP Physician, an OB/Gyne Physician, 2 Internal Medicine Physicians, and a Licensed Psychologist. I was a leader in the establishment of protocols and improvement of screenings, acute care management, and chronic illness management for the patients between the ages of newborn to 18 years. My Pediatric Mental Health Specialist Board Certification assisted me in being more expert at managing the mental health conditions such as ADHD, Anxiety, & Depression in school aged children. I worked well as a team while planning and implementing our School Based Health Clinics in the Kennett, Missouri School District. I participated in the process of developing 504 Plans as needed for students in the Kennett School District. I wrote Asthma Action, Food Allergy, and Seizure Care Plans for the parents and school personnel/school nurses. I was a member of the Missouri State-wide AsthmaCare.org quality improvement group with the goal to decrease the ER visits and hospitalizations of pediatric patients in the Southeast Missouri region due to asthma exacerbations. I am very knowledgeable about the Vaccines for Children Program which facilitates the clinics' ability to provide vaccinations to low income and underinsured pediatric patients who are served by a FQHC organization. I utilized various screening tools (i.e. MCHAT, PSC-17, PHQ9A, CRAFFT, SCARED, Vanderbilt Questionnaires, & Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale) to more objectively assess for developmental and mental health abnormalities as well as for high risk behaviors in our pediatric patients and mom's of the early infant patients.
