I was involved in every aspect related to inter country adoption and dealt with cases from USA, Dubai, Singapore etc. The main focus was to ensure that coordination is maintained between Specialized adoption agency, Authorized foreign adoption agency and all other stakeholders involved in the process of inter country adoption. Efforts were made for early adoption of all children who are declared legally free for adoption. My services were acknowledged and appreciated by the CEO, CARA and all foreign agencies as they were very happy and satisfied with the way things were moving and the concern shown for children’s long-term rehabilitation.

    • Adoption officer
      • Jul 1997 - Mar 2009

As adoption officer, I ensured that genuine efforts are made to trace families of all abandoned children and they are restored back to biological families. Through organization, many children were considered for sponsorship where their education, medical and other basic needs fulfilled. I placed around 800 children in in-country and Inter country adoption and tried level best to place them in loving and caring families as per law. The home study reports of adoptive families living within India were prepared where all queries related to adoption were answered and made them feel at ease. Pre and post adoptive counseling were provided to families. The children who had gone out of India were mostly special needs or older siblings and our home used to get their follow up reports that shows how beautifully they adjusted in their adoptive families. The follow up with Indian families were done for a short period. However, few families kept in touch with the organization for a longer period that shows how wonderfully the children are doing after adoption. I always coordinated and made liaison with all central, state government and other officials in the field.
