Communications Officer for the AICHR Support Unit. Coordination and Liaison Duties • Maintain communication channels between the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) and its partners (other ASEAN human rights-related ASEAN bodies, ASEAN Dialogue Partners, UN agencies, regional CSOs, national human rights institutions). • Support and facilitate the work of the AICHR and its Drafting Group during the drafting of the ASEAN Human Rights Declaration (AHRD). • Monitor and assist the accreditation process of organisations to be an entity associated with ASEAN. • Liaise and maintain effective lines of communication with the ASEAN Foundation and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA). Technical Support • Draft concept notes of proposed activities as well as updates regarding the developments on human rights within the ASEAN framework and in the region. • Monitor and assess the implementation of AICHR activities and events. • Prepare administrative and logistical arrangements for AICHR meetings (up to six times a year) and follow up on decisions/agreements made. Strategic Communication and Coordination • Comprehensive monitoring and reporting on news related to the AICHR and human rights development in ASEAN. • Draft and edit public information materials as well as liaise with publishers and the relevant divisions in the ASEAN Secretariat on the AICHR’s publications. • Administer the content of the AICHR Website (aichr.org).
