I have had the privelege of knowing Karon since 2001 when I was first introduced to her by racehorse trainer Tim Etherington. Karon is assistant to Tim and they make a formidable team. Karon is incredibly knowledgeable about horses and the industry as a whole. She is terrifically hard working and dedicated to her job and more importantly the horses. A fantastic array of skills and capabilities accompany Karon. She is personable and articulate looking after owners who visit the stables and the various clients of the stable that support the horses welfare such as vets, physiotherapists and farriers. Her hard work benefits others too. Karon was integral and instrumental in making the 2012 Malton stables open day a resounding success, working tirelessly in her own time to organise the event. This involves great negotiation, interpersonnel and organisation skills. She has a track record of success. Quite simply she is good at whatever she does and is an asset to any organisation.

As Assistant Trainer I was responsible for the day to day running of the stables, ensuring the horses were cared for to the highest possible standards. I was also responsible for the organisation, training and welfare of the staff, working with Veterinary Surgeons, Farriers and Physiotherapists, and taking care of the horse owners when they visited the yard. As Head Girl, I was responsible for overseeing the running of the stables, under the guidance of the Trainer. I worked alongside the other staff, ensuring the day to day duties were all carried out to the highest possible standards. I was also responsible for staff training and welfare, health and safety, and ensuring the yard continued to run smoothly in the trainer's absence.
