As a member of this business unit, I took the opportunity to educate the general public on how to be responsible stewards of the urban forest. In responding to requests from Calgary citizens regarding concerns about publicly owned trees in city parks and on public right of ways, I had the opportunity to teach people about the importance of urban forests and promote proper tree care directly to each home owner, while performing preliminary tree health evaluations and diagnosis, recommendations on species selection, preventative and corrective tree pruning, and, when necessary, tree removals.
