I also mentored another contractor working on a connected project. • Worked with senior management team to ensure end result would align with shop-floor level requirements while supporting the board strategic vision. • Rolled out “Major Tom” across the business in a week of staged deployments and data migrations with zero interruption to the business and negligible post-live teething issues. • Coded a web frontend (React/Redux/Saga/Styled Components/etc) for sales, operations and finance staff. This 100+ screen portal included a drag-and-drop flight manifesting screen, wallboard displays, a WYSIWYG email designer, capacity scheduling, user-personalised dashboard and more. • Setup a TDD/CI workflow that pushed versioned and tested docker containers into a cloud repository for one-line deployment/rollback. • Designed and wrote the ~20 microservices that comprise the backend using SOLID, DRY and FP techniques. I was responsible for managing our development effort undertaken in the UK, Poland and the US, via our contractor or supplier arrangements. Unfortunately Zonr was unable to convert prospects into sales quickly enough and we opted to wind up the business with a small loss (but all suppliers paid in full). • Selected and negotiated with hardware providers for the manufacture of bespoke circuit boards as well as mechanical and industrial design work so as to achieve our desired feature set and bill of materials. • Specified the firmware requirements for the sensors, working with the manufacturers’ technical personnel throughout the development process, specifying UAT, leading to a functional prototype. • Led customer workshops and trade shows, to foster interest and engagement within the social housing community, and prepared pilot deployment schemes. • Wrote a C# .NET mono application for the Raspberry PI that read data coming from the sensors (via our GPIO connected module), and sent it in batches via GSM or WiFi to a server.
