Daily Roles and Responsibilities: - - Review project documents to highlight problematic requirements and concerns surrounding costings and lead times.- Ensure new products are introduced effectively with minimal disruption to existing assembly lines and procedures.- Operate CATIA and SmarTeam to generate concept ideas, produce Engineering Drawings for quotation and prototypes and modify existing models and components.- Liaise with Test Engineers to design new test procedures to collate data and information for future projects.- Represent the Engineering Department in meetings with globally recognised customers to introduce new designs and improve compliancy with their requirements.- Lead Design review meetings to provide updates on existing Design work, receive feedback and delegate work to selected team members.- Familiarise myself with British Standards and design components to comply with the regulations prior to sending them to an external test house.

Daily Roles and Responsibilities - - Generate new concepts solving problems on new and existing projects with safety, cost and manufacturing techniques considered throughout.- Operate 2D and 3D CAD packages such as DraftSight and SolidWorks to meet the task requirements.- Modify existing drawings and components to improve function, aid assembly and reduce cost.- Adhere to strict document quality control procedures.- Liaison with Workshop, System and Sales Engineers to overcome problems and finalise modifications taking into account function, time restrictions, budgets and assembly constraints.- Check colleague’s drawings to ensure all information is present for issuing to purchasing and manufacturing. - Training new staff on DraftSight and SolidWorks demonstrating basic functions to complex assemblies. - Generate 3D models from 2D drawings to benefit future development work.- Communicate with customers ensuring machines are functional and accessible within space restricted factories. - Visit suppliers to discuss future products, gain experience of manufacturing techniques and investigate cost savings to existing components.
