In Toyota you learn continuous improvment from the production floor. Karl has moved from the production floor though every level of the printing industry to create a manufacturing organization that is lead from a customer focus at the production floor level. I miss your great Quad Tech family Karl.

Karl has done a lot to earn my respect in the many years I have worked with and for him. Karl has consistently sought the opinions of others to understand how to better do his job. He has never been afraid to take action when it was needed. And above all, he has maintained the positive outlook required for success.

My main responsibility in leading the North American operations of SafanDarley is to expand our business here in a responsible manner. We have to grow an exceptional team that will provide top-notch support to our business partners representing us and the customers who purchase our products. When I first joined the company in October of 2018, my focus was on developing the essential infrastructure we needed to begin growing the business. We relocated to the office to the Midwest, created an attractive benefits package to attract top talent, and then hired the key positions we needed. Next, we built a brand new facility to fit our needs for now and well into the future. This facility included a training and demo center to allow us to train our business partners more effectively and provide demonstrations in person or through live streaming for those who couldn't travel. It also provides a warehouse for our spare parts business and for testing and training for our engineers. Now my role is much more focused on people. I'm engaged daily with our distributors and our staff, attempting to understand their business needs more clearly. We are involving the stakeholders in inventory decisions and stocking machines they feel they will have the most success selling. We are also taking their new product ideas and building business cases to support the development efforts to bring those to market. I am very proud of the team of professionals we have assembled. Developing our organization's talent is the best part of my job. I enjoy mentoring and working with our young talent and sharing what others have taught me throughout my career. Honestly, some days I feel they are teaching me as much or more. Their energy and attitude get me excited to come to work every day! Show less
