A research student on the NERC CDT Oil & Gas program. Basin dynamics research group - Keele UniversityProject: An Integrated analysis of facies controls on deformation bands in mixed aeolian-fluvial sandstone reservoirs.Researching the effects of sedimentary facies variation within aeolian-fluvial sandstones, on the formation of deformation band fault zones, and the petrophysical impacts of faulting, from grain scale to reservoir scale. Utilising outcrop and core analogues, petrographic and microstructural analysis, and experimental geomechanics.- UK Triassic and Devonian continental stratigraphy.- Field work project planning and development.- Petrographic reservoir quality analysis.- Microstructural and textural analysis.- Experimental geomechanics using triaxial and uniaxial apparatus.- Textural controls on micromechanical and deformation behaviour.Presented work annually at international conferences such as:- AAPG ACE- TSG- AGUWritten and in the process of writing peer reviewed scientific papers.NERC Centre for Doctoral Training in Oil & GasAs part of this PhD program I have completed 20 weeks industry, government and academic led courses pertaining to various aspects of the energy industry. These include Petroleum system analysis (Shell), Biostratigraphy (Haliburton), Petroleum economics (AGR-TRACS), Unconventional Hydrocarbons, Environmental Impact & Regulation and Geoinformatics.Field Experience:Cheshire Basin - Permian-Triassic stratigraphyUtah, USA - Kayenta fm, fault zonesFrench Alps - Passive Margin EvolutionWessex basin - Petroleum stratigraphyYorkshire coast - Jurassic shale and carbonate reservoirsNorth East Scotland - Devonian sandstone reservoirs/fault zonesPembrokeshire - Petroleum basin analysis
