Culture is key within an organisation and Karl certainly had the personality and drive to change the culture of Manchester Arndale Centre. Karl managed to grow a culture which centralised the customers experience as its ultimate goal. Karl was able to do this by growing a new culture of passion and pride from the grass routes, tediously hiring great people who had the passion, charisma and drive to change a customers experience for the better.

This letter is my personal recommendation for Karl Clawley. Up until mid 2011, I reported directly to Karl as his deputy for 18 months. I found him to be a dynamic, open, inspiring, approachable and supportive leader who tackled all projects and objectives with dedication and a smile. Besides being a joy to work with, Karl was able to get the best from his team by encouraging us to take new approaches to solving problems. With his experience and creativity he would help us to evolve our ideas and was excellent in communicating the benefits of an idea to others. During his time with our company, Karl helped to develop several initiatives that resulted in increased employee engagement and improved customer service.
