I'm very grateful to have been a part of such an amazing project and piece of engineering. The Palace Theatre on Broadway was hoisted over 30 feet in the air to accommodate new hotel and retail spaces below. Our scope was to install a new theatrical counterweight system, hang a new front of house chandelier and re-install the original pin rails. It was any honor working with the talented team from Texas Scenic, their iron workers and stagehands. Truley a once in a lifetime project to bring a Broadway Theatre back to life. Show less

Jacob Javits Center embarked on a massive expansion starting in May 2017, adding additional conference and exhibit hall space to an already large campus. In May of 2020, I joined the Texas Scenic Company team to assist in restarting the progress that was slowed by the pandemic. Our scope of work included installing automation and rigging for (5) 50'x110' lighting trusses, (1) 140' automated black out curtain and various automated banner and signage trusses across the site. A large scope of work was made more complicated by precautions taken in a time of uncertainty with Covid at its peak - with full PPE, tool wipe down protocols, distancing protocols and testing in place. During a time where many industries were shut down, I was honored to be able to take part in this work and keep a high-profile city project moving forward. Show less

David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center underwent a massive renovation to upgrade its facilities and acoustics. The theater's state-of-the-art flexibility accommodates choral performances, recitals, semi-staged opera, dance, film premieres, and amplified pop and rock concerts. Our scope was to install the orchestral surround walls and orchestral skirts used on the stage lifts. For the Orchestral surround a three-part system was utilized to create the “walls” of the chamber. A system of internal framing was created to mount the onstage and offstage acoustical panels, some sections weighing up to a ton. The onstage panels were designed with linear decorative brass rods to deflect sound outward, while the offstage wall were clad in steel panels giving the chamber a soundproof type of projection system. I’m grateful to have worked in such an amazing space that I hope will entertain the next generation of artists and concert goers. Show less

EDGE at Hudson Yards is the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere, with a one-of-a-kind design. It’s suspended in mid-air, giving you the feeling of floating in the sky with 360-degree views you can’t get anywhere else. As part of the que before arriving at the observation deck, there is an immersive experience explaining the history of the site and similar sites in New York. An 20’ x 50’ shadow box ceiling map of Manhattan was designed to guide guest through a 10 minute history of the site. The structure was comprised of a steel drop ceiling with 70 (4’x8’ish) networked LED panels which sat above a finished aluminum perforated ceiling. Coordination of multiple contractors was necessary as lighting, sound, video, security and fire suppression lived with in the ceiling. Responsibilities Included:-Install and Supervision.-Coordination and sequencing with contractors and design team.-Daily supervision and scheduling of Union Carpenters.-Ensuring safety and compliance of all OSHA and Adirondack Studios Safety Standards. Short term technical supervision for Moment Factory on their new interactive and immersive experience inside a New York City landmark. Inspired by the architecture and rich history of Lower Manhattan’s Cunard Building, we partnered with Cipriani to create Dream Ship DestiNY, a multimedia journey to New York. D.S. DestiNY invites audiences to step on board a classic ocean liner as it sets sail on an ocean of dreams. The voyage offers glimpses of New York, a mosaic of the many visions and hopes of the passengers aboard the ship as it travels from the old world to the limits of imagination. The show was designed to explore the Cunard Building as it is brought to life and transformed into a one-of-a-kind passenger ship by cutting-edge visual technology. The building is a neo-Renaissance architectural gem, built in the 1920s in the heart of the financial district, directly across from Wall Street’s famous Charging Bull. This immersive experience transforms this iconic landmark into a massive 360• digital canvas, enveloping its audience in light, color and sound. Show less

Physical Production Manager

Jan 2006 - Jan 2014
Responsibilities Included:-Creation and project tracking of production schedules, budgets, design and engineering analysis. -Development for new musicals of “Tarzan”, “High School Musical”, “Mary Poppins”, “Little Mermaid” and “Aladdin”.-As needed stage technician work for productions such as “Aida” Korea and “Aladdin” at The 5th Avenue Theatre.-As needed Technical Direction / Production Management work for production such as “Mary Poppins” Mexico City.Notable Projects:Assistant Technical Director on Disney’s “High School Musical” National Tour. Working with the Technical Director, we were given the challenge of how to tour a big national show that can move into B and C rate theatre markets. Working with Scenic Designer Ken Foy and Lighting Designer Ken Billington we were able to design and fabricate the physical production to be very forgiving and modular to accommodate the physical limitation of any theatre. Much of the tour was then spent surveying each theatre and creating problem solving alternatives varying from grid height / weight restrictions to offstage fly storage space. Every theatre was a very unique challenge much beyond the usual for a touring production of this size. This experience came in useful later when I was asked to consult on the UK tour. FOH Advance Carpenter on Disney’s and Cameron Mackintosh’s “Mary Poppins” National Tour. Each stop on the tour was to have a magical flight by Mary Poppins over the audience. Working with PRG Scenic I custom tailored a solution for each of the 50+ theatres. This meant supervising the design, build and install for each theatre a project that would last for two years. By doing so we could insure safety for our stagehands and actors, along with a quality product for our audience. Show less
