I spent the Summer of 2020 working at Sherwin Williams. With my background in interior design, I desired to become better acquainted with the paint industry. I worked one-on-one with homeowners, business owners and contractors on a daily basis. Because of this job, I understand the difference in the variety of paints and sheens (interior and exterior), learned proper paint application techniques and the proper tools/products needed for various jobs, became a color/tint expert and personally mixed thousands of gallons of paint, and developed relationships with many business professionals in the design industry! Interior Design Intern

Jan 2020 - Jun 2020
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience working at Dimension IV, they have a very creative and successful team of kind and hard-working individuals. The internship was a requirement for graduation, but I ended up staying well beyond the required hours. I had a unique experience as an intern because of COVID-19. The first three months were spent in the office with the staff, the remaining of the internship was completely remote. In-office, I learned what it was like to physically be in a work environment and in a space with other professionals. I attended countless staff meetings for various projects, often met with reps and had full access to the material and finish library to create mood and material boards. Working remotely, I learned a completely different set of skills which included learning how to communicate professionally via computer/phone, how to work collaboratively on projects remotely in Revit, Bluebeam, Adobe, etc., and gained an understanding of what weekly meetings were like from a virtual setting. Throughout my internship I: -Assisted with filing and updating samples in interiors library. -Met with product reps and updating info within interiors library. -Assisted with drawing in Revit on various projects from schematic design into construction documents; room finish schedule, finish plans, interior details, interior elevations, furniture layouts, etc. -Assisted with renderings in Revit or Photoshop. -Selected finish samples for projects. -Produced color boards for interior projects. -General office filing, scanning of drawings, etc. -Assisted with interior design marketing materials.
