Math Instructional Coach

The last 5 years at Miami Community Charter School I taught mathematics and worked as an instructional coach for the math department. I also led the STEM department. As a mathematics instructional coach I provided support to teachers in the areas of lesson planning, pacing guides and data driven instruction. As the STEM chair, my team and I successfully developed a STEM curriculum to guide teachers towards a cross curricular approach. The STEM curriculum, along with my support in mathematics instruction gave students opportunities to learn through inquiry and problem solving. These rigorous learning experiences made a difference in student performance. My role required biweekly meetings to analyze student data and find areas for remediation. I would then provide teachers strategies for remediating the areas in need. It has been an honor to watch the school grade at Miami Community Charter School raise from a rating of F to B during my time working at the school. Show less
