  In his most prominent role so far, Karim was responsible for the sustainable strategic and operational management of AHK Algeria (max. 22 employees) and heading its consulting department. He introduced an agile mindset to the organization and implemented several major internal change measures and design thinking processes (human resources, operations, controlling, finance, sales & marketing, information and CRM systems) that resulted in a significant rise of turnover of consulting projects with German and Algerian clients. Furthermore, Karim managed the DIHK part of the project “support of the energy partnerships of the Federal Government of Germany”, a complex multicultural change project, as lead manager for the Maghreb area. Politically, most demanding was the representation of German business interests with Algerian authorities in a very challenging socio-economic and political context and the successful representation of AHK interests with the German Ministry for Economy and Energy. Besides, noteworthy is his active participation in two AHK worldwide change projects (AHK training and AHK online/digitalization - development of further training and online tools for the worldwide AHK community; and co-implementation of two trainings in 2013 and 2014 for worldwide AHK staff, respectively).
