It was a privilege and a pleasure to work with Mr. Azaiz in a cross hierarchic agile change project over more than six months. Together we developed quite a few innovative and daring strategies that we successfully carried out together with our customer. Working with Karim was great because he is an extraordinarily loyal and reliable "partner in crime" and has a great ability to resonate with the various stakeholders in any given project

When he worked for the German Chambers Network, I have had the pleasure to meet Karim and learn from him how to innovate and manage eventually in hard situations. With his brilliant mind, he always made the difference when contributing to solutions and different ways of handling subjects that would affect us all, independent of the country we were based. He has a very practical and pragmatic way of leading and getting things done, motivating his peers to leverage their own results. I am pretty sure that both Tunisia and Algeria offered him a very rich knowledge on how to do business and thrive in these countries. I am glad to have Karim in my network and exchange ideas on the service industry every now and then. I totally recommend Karim if you are looking for success in your business!

During his time with a leading change management consultancy and „hidden champion“, Karim got in-depth experience with the workings of digitization. Most noteworthy are the implementation of an agile mindset via design thinking processes as agile coach with a major German autmotive digitization project (planning and execution of knowledge-transfer and team-building workshops; planning and conduction of interviews with major stakeholders in order to implement long-term change); the program management regarding the rollout of a SAP-based application in a major European market including related organizational restructuring (program relaunch and replanning; Program Office Lead function including PMO steering; top management reporting; stakeholder management including IT; business as well as external vendors; external and internal team steering); and the project management for the evolvement of lean backoffice processes (team setup and handover to the line function: overall planning and implementation of the restructuring approach; reshaping of the backoffice processes while keeping regular operations up and running; team setup including recruitment, onboarding and integration; management reporting). • Deputy & Acting Managing Director I Implementing change & an agile mindset
      • Jul 2012 - Jun 2015

In his most prominent role so far, Karim was responsible for the sustainable strategic and operational management of AHK Algeria (max. 22 employees) and heading its consulting department. He introduced an agile mindset to the organization and implemented several major internal change measures and design thinking processes (human resources, operations, controlling, finance, sales & marketing, information and CRM systems) that resulted in a significant rise of turnover of consulting projects with German and Algerian clients. Furthermore, Karim managed the DIHK part of the project “support of the energy partnerships of the Federal Government of Germany”, a complex multicultural change project, as lead manager for the Maghreb area. Politically, most demanding was the representation of German business interests with Algerian authorities in a very challenging socio-economic and political context and the successful representation of AHK interests with the German Ministry for Economy and Energy. Besides, noteworthy is his active participation in two AHK worldwide change projects (AHK training and AHK online/digitalization - development of further training and online tools for the worldwide AHK community; and co-implementation of two trainings in 2013 and 2014 for worldwide AHK staff, respectively). In mid-2009 Karim started to fill the newly created renewable energies & environment department with life, leading and managing a staff of four and contributing around 25% of overall AHK turnover from 2010 to 2012. With an agile project mindest, Karim procured and managed the three-year project “Focal Point Desertec in North Africa” of the German Ministry for Economy and Technology as lead manager for Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco regarding the Desertec project in North Africa. Furthermore, he procured several private business and institutional (interdepartmental) projects in the renewable and environment sectors and managed the project cycles including trainings in and market researches on renewable energy & energy efficiency. Thus, Karim created and managed a vast and sustainable network of key institutional and private partners and customers, creating a sustainable brand in the renewable energy and environment sectors. Not to forget, he managed a multi-stakeholder project with 6 German chambers of industry and commerce worldwide and German headquarters regarding the implementation of a new service brand. Show less
