  Through the University of Calgary P.U.R.E. program I had the opportunity to study the feasibility of geothermal energy production in Western Canada. Using PFLOTRAN I was able to simulate the properties of brine flow at depths over 5000m in order to calculate the potential energy production, and the difficulty involved in that.
