As a rehab aide for M Health Fairview, I assist with inpatient care under the direction and supervision of a therapist. This role is extremely hands-on and requires a lot of attention to detail. I have been lucky enough to learn from and observe many different therapists. Working in a hospital during a global pandemic has taught me resilience and grit. -I take pride in my bedside manner, empathy, and communication skills -As a second set of hands, I make sure that not only the patient is safe, but also the therapist and myself -I take note of a patient's precautions and/or restrictions prior to entering a room to ensure a smooth therapy session -I am familiar/comfortable with orthosis, safe patient handling equipment, blood pressure cuffs/oximeters, and assisting nurses with dressing changes/soiled linens -When not working directly with a patient, I make sure the rehab space is clean and organized -I issue durable medical equipment (DME), and often call Fairview Home Medical to restock our supplies -I navigate EPIC, handling inpatient scheduling Show less
