Karen was always ahead of the game on the productions she worked on for us. Great spirit and energy. Be warned though, she will make you laugh when you probably shouldn't!
Páidí Ó Lionáird
Bhí Karen Bracken mar mhac léinn agam tráth go rabhas ag teagasc na hiriseoireachta in Ollscoil Chathair Bhaile Átha Cliath. Mar mhac léinn, ní raibh sárú Kharen le fáil - bhí sí de shíor i láthair, fábharach agus a dea-thoil chun tosaigh i gcónaí. Chuir sí a cuid oibre roimpi go fonnmhar, slachtmhar agus go críochnúil. Bhí fonn oibre agus foghlamtha uirthi - í sásta triail a bhaint as éagsúlacht scileanna lasmuigh dá gnáth-réimse-compóird a fhoghlaim agus, go hiondúil, máistreacht a bhaint amach leo. Is duine fíor-dheas, gealgáireach agus oscailte í Karen - í cuiditheach, cruthaitheach agus tuisceanach i ngach déileail a bhí agam leí. Is léir go bhfuil na tréithe sin forbairte tuilleadh aici - tóir ar a scileanna mar léiritheoir teilifíse de bharr a cumas taighde chruinn a chur i mbun oibre le claracha d'ard-chaighdeán a léiriú. I've known Karen Bracken since having been an assistant lecturer on her course in journalism & communications at Dublin City University. Karen was an exemplary student; always present, punctual and full of positivity. Karen utilised her time in college well - extracting all the knowledge she could from the teaching staff - prepared to step outside of her own comfort zones in order to master a new skill and offer fresh perspectives on projects - be they class or individual pursuits. She always completed tasks with panache - on time and with extra flair that has flourished further in her professional career since that time. These traits are constantly in demand as evidenced by the ability Karen has displayed producing creative television programmes notwithstanding budgetary constraints. Karen is also blessed with a wonderfully open, bright and positive personality - a demeanor which adds further to her skillset. I'm very pleased to recommend Karen in any capacity she may apply herself to - such is her ability to ingest and transfer knowledge - excellent journalistic skills.
