The Dennis Group is a consulting firm providing strategic and philanthropic guidance to cause-driven organizations and government agencies. The Dennis Group, simply put, has amazing clients, and it is a pleasure to walk with them on their journey. I am motivated by a drive to create meaningful change and am buoyed by the opportunity to work with an organization that builds capacity in the not-for-profit sector. Connecting people to the causes that matter to them is the ultimate in job satisfaction. I couldn’t be more thrilled that my work helps make great things possible. Show less

    • Strategic Planning Task Force
      • Mar 2015 - Oct 2015

I was a key contributor to the 5-person Task Force whose mandate was to review and recommend to the CEO board of directors a new 3 year Strategic Plan, and accompanying work plan. The draft plan makes recommendations for a more open and collaborative culture within the organization; more member-centric operations and to build on existing partnerships with regional and national Chamber organizations. In 2002, I was hired on as the only full time staff member at the Market Hall. I was bookkeeper, HR department, operations manager, resource development queen, and, occasionally, the bartender or lighting operator. I instantly fell in love with the Hall’s charmed energy and storied past. The elegance of its proportions and glorious acoustics were unusual and special; a community jewel. It was, however, being held together with duct tape and twine and it was apparent that if the space was to have a future as a performing arts centre, it would require a massive upgrade. No Band-Aids - a major surgical intervention. So that’s what we did. I led my brave Board of Directors and secured $9.7 million in funding through successful grants and proposals for a capital renovation and rehabilitation project that began, in earnest in June, 2009. The theatre renovation completed on time and on budget March, 2011. Show less
