Prior to my current role, I worked as a Senior Constable where I attended to domestic disturbances and assessed clients for those exposed to DFV including their level of risk and provided crisis support by referring clients to both government and non-government support services. Part of my responsibility was to generate required police and court documents where applicable such as Domestic and family violence protection orders and QP9 and other court documents and ensure adherence to legislative requirements to provide high standard support to clients. Moreover, I maximised community resources by making appropriate referrals to DV connect and other agencies, community programs or other relevant to the needs of the client. I also cooperated and worked directly with the Logan District Domestic Violence Liaison Officer to provide direct assistance to clients exposed to DFV. Lastly, I ascertained and considered their needs to connect them with appropriate resources including medical care, mental health care, emergency housing, DV crisis support, legal advice and spiritual support.
