Karen is an extremely dedicated, compassionate, and knowledgeable provider and manager working in the homelessness field. She has pioneered trauma informed care for her clients and has real vision about strategies for addressing and ending family homelessness. I am glad to have worked with her.

Karen Streeter has dedicated her entire career to making a difference in the lives of people who need a "hand up". Her passion to help others along with her vision, intelligence, and drive not only developed Sheffield Place, but made Sheffield Place one of the most respected homeless programs in the Kansas City area. In all of the years I have spent in management in the field of social services and in direct service, I can say without a doubt, that Ms. Streeter's skills in grant writing, program development and program implementation go unmatched by anyone I have ever worked with. Her passion for her work is shown clearly by the growth of Sheffield Place while she was the Executive Director. She has taken a program that was a "start up" program and turned it into a growing, thriving business that is not only successful financially but more importantly has helped countless families to become self sufficient and break the cycle of homelessness. I personally am aware of many families whose lives were turned around as a result of their experience at Sheffield Place. Ms. Streeter would be an assett to any company, be it a social service position or a position in any other company who is looking for a detailed oriented, self driven, hard working, dependable, and compassionate employee.
