Karen was always first, last and always to the people she represented. She always challenged us in the executive branch to apply our expertise to solve problems rather than merely be busy. Her meticulous eye on this mission for achievement truly set her apart from many other politicians content with authority, but never accepting the responsibility incumbent upon dedicated policy makers willing to make the effort to make a difference for Louisiana. Our state will be lucky to retain such a diamond as Karen in public service whose heart as big as all outdoors and her focus as fixed as the Northern Star.

A legislative assistant has to have a people degree. Willing to listen and solve everyday problems along with health care issues. No matter what the problem is or if you solve it, you have to be a listener and have a big heart. It makes my day to help or at least try. A legislative assistant has to have a people degree.
