I am writing this in support for Karen Snow and her desire to seek positions of greater authority. Karen and I have been colleagues for almost ten years and have worked together on numerous projects. I have relied on Karen to provide extensive and technical research and evaluation on a myriad of grants proposals and strategic plans during my tenure at Bakersfield College. She has always been the consummate team player that established and maintained cooperative working relationships with all team players. She is an extremely organized and focused individual. She is exceptionally gifted at mining and analyzing data to provide for solid decisions that direct countless college projects and initiatives. Her reports provide highly usable data with tabular, graphic, and statistical content presented in a way that is easy for all to understand. Her research always has the highest levels of reliability and provided us the utmost confidence in the strategic directions we decided upon. Based on Karen’s input, my areas of responsibility march forwarded with confidence in knowing we are doing what is best for our students. Her student-centered approach to identifying key data allowed us to keep focus on our goals and objectives. She has exceptional attention to detail coupled with the flexibility needed to move projects forward. She has all those attributes cherished in a fast paced and productive environment. She leads by example and has proven herself to be extremely competent and hard-charging. I’m thankful I had the opportunity to work with her and highly recommend her for positions of greater responsibility and authority. If you have questions, please feel free to call me at (661)395-4921. Respectfully, Richard C. McCrow Dean of Instruction Bakersfield College

Kern COG is the federally designated MPO and the state designated RTPA for Kern County. Its primary function is to develop or update transportation plans and allocated federal and state funds to implement those plans. It is also a state designated Census Data Center and provides leadership in development of geographical information systems for local government. As an intern for Kern COG I used my educational background in Demographic and Quantitative methods to prepare member agencies demographic maps for grant submissions. I worked on a variety of projects using GIS to update and digitize mapping, analyze route scenarios and to engage the public concerning long term planning regionally and state wide. Show less
