The Internet Society, on behalf of the IETF, contracts the RFC Editor function to Association Management Solutions, LLC (AMS). The RFC Editor performs technical editing and related functions for an online publication series that documents standards, new developments, and research in Internet software technology. These technical specifications and organizational/policy documents are produced by four streams: the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), the Internet Research Task Force (IRTF), the Internet Architecture Board (IAB), and Independent Submissions. The RFC Editor has considerable interaction with highly skilled network protocol designers, operators, vendors, and researchers concerned with the evolution of the Internet architecture. We edit highly specialized technical materials, turning sometimes deficient English into clear and correct English prose, and check for editorial consistency using series-specific style rules. After working directly with authors to create publication-ready documents (called "RFCs"), we publish and post the RFCs at: https://www.rfc-editor.org and https://www.ietf.org/. Show less
