      Macon Housing Moving to Success, Inc. (MHMS), is a non-profit entity of Macon Housing Authority (MHA) that was formed in February 2003 to sustain supportive services for the MHA HOPE VI participants (former residents of Oglethorpe Homes – now called Tattnall Place); and to serve as a catalyst for new and continuing resident support programs and activities specifically in the areas of education, employability training, homeownership counseling, transportation, computer literacy, entrepreneurial training, etc. The mission of MHMS is “to serve as an engine for social and economic upward mobility with a continuum of services for residents and other low-to-moderate income families to move toward an improved quality of life.” To this end, our broad goals are to: • Provide on-going training and economic empowerment education • Offer case management services • Encourage and offer homeownership counseling and preparation • Provide financial assistance for eligible families to receive specific services • Provide or attract supportive services to increase independence for the elderly • Provide or attract supportive services to improve physical and mental health, education and employability • Provide or attract supportive services to improve children’s educational, social, physical and emotional well-being MHMS provides these services to families that reside in MHA senior, multi-family and public housing developments, and the Macon-Bibb community.
