  Accountable for strategic direction and daily leadership in the representation of private service agencies that provide mental health, social service, substance abuse and juvenile justice programs to children across North Carolina. Direct advocacy work with legislative and state/federal agencies to secure funding, legislation and policy that promotes quality care for the children our member agencies serve. Conduct continuous environmental scans to identify funding and public policy trends, opportunities for system reform and identify proactive programmatic and fiscal recommendations to member agencies. Lead public relations on legislative and policy issues and execute strategies to promote association positions with key state government decision makers, legislators and community advocacy groups. Spearheaded a 210% increase in association membership to nearly 100 agencies that collectively represent a half billion dollars in services annually. Association membership is now among the largest of its kind in the nation. Consistently meet annual budget targets and generate increased revenues.   Responsible for oversight of all operations for the North Carolina association comprised of 100 locally managed county Department of Social Service (DSS) agencies. Managed short and long-range strategic planning, public relations/information, office administration and supervision of staff. Negotiated policies, positions and resolutions through extensive committee and board structures. Established and maintained powerful partnerships within county DSS agencies, state agencies, community programs, statewide advocacy organizations, legislative personnel and county/state elected officials to drive association identified fiscal, policy and legislative needs. Directed the association in a turnaround effort from a fiscal operating deficit to a balanced budget with a consistent annual surplus.
