The role involved leading a department of 140 people serving Auckland Council’s 21 local boards and 149 local board members and the interface with the Mayor and councillors. The department provides strategic and governance advice to the local boards whose budgets total $330 million per annum, supports the annual plan and council policy development and runs an elected member learning and development programme.
