Get great rates, convenient banking, and climate-friendly financing while contributing to a greener future. Clean Energy Credit Union was started by a group of inspired people passionate about promoting clean energy in order to protect our environment and improve the economy. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to find affordable financing when purchasing a clean energy product or service. While many financing options are more expensive than they should be, partly because clean energy is relatively new and unfamiliar, we wanted to change that. Instead of starting a “green bank”, we chose to take an innovative and cooperative approach — so we established ourselves as a credit union. We believed this structure would help spread and create the multiple benefits of using clean energy and as a result, improve the planet. We are committed to making it easier for everyone to use and invest in clean energy to help protect our planet today and tomorrow. Show less

Friendship Bridge works primarily with indigenous populations in rural areas where the rate of poverty, child malnutrition and migration in Guatemala is the highest. Friendship Bridge believes that for best results in eliminating poverty, and building sustainable work and communities, microcredit must be combined with education and other services. We call this Microcredit Plus. While microcredit provides our clients with a hand up for their businesses, education and preventive health service and knowledge, provides them with assets for life — skills and knowledge to create sustainable change for themselves, their families and their communities. Currently, more than 26,000 women are in our program taking advantage of Microcredit Plus and maintain a loan repayment rate of over 98%. Friendship Bridge has affected the lives of hundreds of thousands of rural people by investing in women entrepreneurs in rural Guatemala – women who become leaders and agents of change for themselves, their families and communities.
