Sep 2017 - Jul 2020
• Fuelling a culture change for staff and trustees in pursuing best practice, accountability and sustainability whilst maintaining the caring nature of these houses for women coming out of prison and leaving behind drugs and alcohol. • In two years moving Treasures from the point of entrenched debt owed to the landlord to break even and then to the point of having reserves. • In three years getting Treasures 50% of their funding pledged for the next five years. • Taking Treasures on a journey from the stage where they had no policies, contracts or significant financial procedures in 2017, to the point where all of these have been transformed. • Growing Treasures from having me as the sole non-project staff member to fundraising, recruiting and managing the Finance and Quality Managers to enhance their respective areas. • Communicating with beneficiaries, celebrities, high value donors, potential supporters, staff and volunteers to bring out the best results for everyone. • Creating and implementing Fundraising Strategies to fit with CRiBS’ overall aims. • Increasing trust income, including recent successes of £96,000 over three years to support struggling primary school children and £76,000 for Secondary Mentoring work which is opening the way to helping more people. • Recruiting, training and managing volunteers whose work would cost thousands of pounds per year were CRiBS to pay them. • Promoting regular giving. • Organising over ten events that CRiBS had not done before and enhancing their current events to raise more money. • Increasing the ability of staff to think in ways that consider how they can prove the benefits of our work and enhance what they do. • Improving strategic documents like the Annual Accounts. I helped the Co-op to work with scores of local causes for their benefit. This involved linking up causes to the council, supporting various events in person and through donation of goods, promoting Fairtrade and more. This role, independent of the Food stores and funeral care, but linked to them involved working face to face and remotely using social media. Fundraiser
-
May 2009 - Sep 2017
JusB helps hard to reach young people in Bromley. Following local cuts and the handing of notices to staff JusB was looking for a fundraiser when I started in 2009. During my time there I was key in: • Gaining new trust funds and fostering multi-year gifts. • Increasing one off gifts. For instance, a major donor offered to match fund £25,000 if we could raise £25,000 in three months, which we did. • Introducing nicely designed email updates instead of text only to improve communication. • Broadening support. In my last year JusB was charity of the year for three organisations. Show less

Fundraiser
-
Aug 2003 - Aug 2009
It was great to move to an organisation as the sole fundraiser and build up the work from scratch (apart from the church support which was dealt with by another team). Over my time at Crosslinks I helped Mission Partners in raising their own funds, sought funding from individuals, promoted legacies and dealt with large funders. I helped projects move to an outcomes approach to improve their work. Nov 1999 - Aug 2003
As my first full time job after university I started as an administrator in the fundraising department. I answered queries, updated the database and helped to move the organisation's records to the database Raiser's Edge. As opportunities became available I moved into Supporter Development within the same team and by the time that I left Oasis I was managing two people and overseeing on the individual giving side of things. I'm grateful for the start that Oasis gave me into the fundraising world. Show less
