      I work as both a researcher, data manager and administrator. My role is extremely diverse but includes the following activities. Recruiting, inducting and training research support staff and costing research projects and advising on materials. I am also responsible for recruiting schools and institutions for our fieldwork in addition to managing the field work, conducting both focus groups and interviews as well as administrating both paper and electronic questionnaires. I work on both public and Youth engagement work also. I am a member of the Athena Swan (celebrating woman in science) working group of which I also lead a task force group charged with promoting work/life balance.A main stand to my role is research data management. Coding survey data collections forms on excel, building in constraints, skip patterns etc, uploading along with associated audio to server. Downloading and exporting data for analysis and managing data collection in the field.Another aspect of my role is budget and financial reporting and invoicing. Liaising will colleagues worldwide who make up our network. This involves international travel for meetings conferences and workshops.I am also responsible for managing contracts, job descriptions and recording salary informationI work as a personal assistant to the Director of the unit, booking international travel and diary management. Liaising with Student Services, Registry, Finance and academic schools, providing guidance, advice and support to incoming and outgoing Exchange and Study Abroad students ensuring that all relevant documents and funding are processed correctly, databases maintained and student information is current and active.
