The Cassie Hines Shoes Cancer Foundation (CHSCF) is a 501(c)3 that supports young adults (15-39) managing a cancer diagnosis with programs that will guide and encourage them from diagnosis to survivorship. I am a founding member of CHSCF; Cassie is my daughter. As her primary caregiver, I became acutely aware of Cassie's need for social support from her peers in the cancer community. Cassie needed someone her age, going through a similar diagnosis to relate to, someone that would "get it". She found that support through survivorship programs, "cancer camps". Walking alongside her during her four years of cancer helped me realize there is a need for programming in the young adult cancer community. My passion is outreach and awareness. Every young adult diagnosed with cancer should be aware of the programs and services available to them. Show less

    • Registered Dental Hygienist
      • Mar 1992 - Nov 2019

After 36 years of loving my career as a dental hygienist, 27 of them working for Dr. Christopher Press my sore neck told me it's time to rethink my career path. Dental hygiene allowed me to use my clinical expertise to help people maintain their oral health. More importantly, I was blessed to be a part of so many lives, sharing in their successes and offering comfort in their difficult times. Dental hygiene is more than "cleaning teeth" it's relationship building at it's core.
