As Executive Director, I am responsible for oversight of all operations. KY Equine Adoption Center is the largest all breed rescue in KY. We take in horses that are abused, abandoned and neglected, and from owners who can no longer care for them. Our horses go through rehabilitation and training to prepare them for adoption. We handle over horses per year. Our cases often involve treatment of complex veterinary cases ranging from severe founder, extreme cases of fistulous withers and limb deformity. We work regularly with law enforcement agencies such as police, sheriff and animal control. We also have an active Education Program and Equine Assisted Learning program for children and adults, including veterans and management teams. As a private non profit, our funding comes from grants, special event fundraisers, direct mail and private donations. During my tenure, I have doubled the budget and staff with the assistance of an excellent staff and supporters! Show less
