I ensure that managers understand and implement the HR policies and procedures, and provide advice to the managers and employees. I am currently looking into the recruitment activity from writing job adverts and interviewing to delivering the HR Induction, whilst controlling the business relationship with Recruitment Agencies and agreeing T&C’s. I also provide HR reports to the Senior Management Team with detailed analysis. Also managing and attending disciplinary, grievance, absence management and dismissal meetings in line with company policy. Show less

I transferred to Blackburn as the site was due to restart production in October 2011. I assisted the GM in recruiting the management team; this was integral to the reopening of the business that the right people were recruited as to ensure that culture of change and improvement was fostered from the beginning. As the sole person for HR I have a generalist role, covering operational tasks and strategic planning. Working within a FMCG environment, I have been exposed to a fast paced workplace and diverse workforce. Show less

    • HR Officer
      • May 2008 - Aug 2011

I was promoted to HR Officer after short time within the company. I feel this was due to my commitment to the company, and my capability to fulfil the role. Doncaster is 24/7 site, employing over 600 staff, so the majority of my time was dealing with the day to day running of HR department, conducting investigation, disciplinary, welfares and grievance meetings. I became knowledgeable on the Time & Attendance system, configuring shift patterns, and maintaining the information, dealing with any issues that arose. I was also solely responsible for the recruitment process for the site, including preparing advertisements, collating and shortlisting applications. I would also interview the candidates, and follow the process to issuing offer letters and contracts. Assisting departmental manager in developing Job Descriptions, ensuring they met the demands of the business as well as the department.During this time, the HR Manager was on Maternity Leave in which it was decided not to cover, therefore it I was the first point of call and representing the HR department in Management Meetings. From this experience I had the opportunity to develop my skills and significant expose to management level of HR. This included supervising and motivating others. Show less
