I conduct applied research on various topics related to watersheds and stormwater, as well as fundraise and write proposals for the Center for Watershed Protection. The Center is a national non-profit dedicated to protecting water resources and we do this primarily by providing technical assistance and training to local governments, watershed organizations and others on responsible land and water management techniques. I am also co-editor-in-chief of the Center’s peer-reviewed journal Watershed Science Bulletin and edit our e-newsletter Runoff Rundown. Some recent projects I have worked on include: the Healthy Harbor Plan, which lays out a strategy for making Baltimore Harbor fishable and swimmable, an analysis of the most cost-effective practices for managing urban stormwater in the James River Basin, and a white paper on the use of credits and offsets as a strategy for stormwater compliance in the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
