I grew up in this this excellent charity that support children and adults with learning disabilities across the UK. Starting as a teenager as a classroom assistant, I then qualified as a therapist then social worker and steadily moved through and up the organisation over the years. I can honestly say I enjoyed every role, and when I left the organisation, having by then been a director for the organisation for four years, it was with great pride and array of skills and experience. As divisional director I was responsible care and support services to 300+ people, with 600+ staff and turnover of 12m across the UK, and was part of executive director team working under the MD.
