MET (Strip & Fit) Technician My job involved me take apart damaged parts of vehicle, removing Mechanical, Electrical, Interior trim and body panels that came in to be removed and replaced. Reinstall trim, electrical and mechanical components as well as body panels once back from paint shop Worked on a average 10-20 cars per week depending out severity of damage. • Carrying out mechanical, electrical and trim work for a range of makes/models • Undertake the dismantling and reassembly of damaged vehicles (Strip and Fit), to an extremely high standard • Carry out technical maintenance, repair or replace parts within the estimated time • Report any additional parts damaged when stripping down and return all unused parts • To dismantle and rebuild vehicles as instructed by Estimate/Job card, or special instructions from the Workshop Controller • To report unseen damage absent from the Estimate as soon as it is identified • To assess tool and equipment requirements, and to report damaged or faulty equipment immediately • Preparation and priming of a new/repaired panel to first masking stage • Ensuring a clean and safe environment for work in each bay. • Repairing and servicing vehicles. • Diagnosing mechanical faults and finding solutions to solve the problem that it initially came in with. • Changing parts such as body panels, mechanical, electrical, interior parts including the servicing of these parts. • Offering quick and efficient solutions to everyday automotive problems.
