  Howden Market is a small local grocery store that I own and operate. My goal is to stock all grocery essentials such as meats, cheeses, pastas, snacks and drinks as well as an assortment of vegan and gluten free products. We have also expanded our wine and beer program on our journey towards having the best selection in town. I want to bring healthy food options in a convenient package to my community.   Spice Monkey Restaurant and Bar was a gem of downtown Oakland's Webster Corridor. Great, world inspired food, ambiance created by the beautiful architecture, including a fountain built into the dining room, and a world class staff. Spice Monkey was home to Comedy Oakland three nights a week, voted 'Best Place for Comedy' - 2016, 2018 & 2019 by an East Bay Express Reader Poll, where the food, drinks and laughs would flow all night long. I owned and operated Spice Monkey with my wonderful staff for 13 years. Unfortunately, I was unable to save Spice Monkey from the pandemic and we were forced to close our doors.
